There is also a possibility of building further up on the lot. In 2005 one of the owners considered dividing the parcel into two but decided not to move forward. A small area at the back of the property is in a coastal development permit exclusion zone but is difficult to access. A biological study revealed a small wetland on the north side of the cabin (a natural spring) & a seasonal creek on the southeastern boundary.
